Posting and the DBA Act
When a professional enters into a secondment, he or she is registered on the Hire.co.uk payroll. This means you don't have to worry about the DBA Act. The DBA Act was introduced to give both clients and self-employed professionals clarity about the employment relationship they enter into together. The purpose of this legislation is to combat false self-employment. If the Tax Authorities find that a zzp'er's temporary assignment was indeed an employment relationship, both the organization and the zzp'er are liable for the tax consequences. Think of the repayment of payroll taxes in addition to possible fines. Subsequently, this can affect the entrepreneurial deduction for self-employed persons.
